Our Curriculum

We aim for each child to be a keen learner and to be ready for their next journey into big school. Being ‘school ready’ to us, means them to be able to attend toileting routines independently, to be able to get dressed for PE on their own, to feed themselves and have the confidence and knowledge that they are valid members of the class. We want every child to be confident, independent, to have perseverance and resilience. We want children to be able to build healthy relationships with their peers. Our intent for all children is for them to be able to reach their full potential. How we implement that is via our planning and our interactions with children. We implement our curriculum by offering a range of age/ability related activities, allowing children to make decisions by themselves, following their lead and encouraging them to ‘have a go’, whilst we praise their efforts and teach them along the way.ur paragraph here.

Every child is unique and we believe that success and growth come from encouragement and praise. Our teachers focus on building every child’s self esteem and confidence through positive feedback and rewards. We nurture their natural strengths. A child sees the world around them with wonder and awe, we believe in encouraging their natural curiosity.

From a volunteer......

" I volunteered at Little Lions from February 2015 to July 2015. It was definitely one of the most valuable experiences I have had and I have learnt a great deal in caring for children and fostering their learning journey.

At Little Lions, children come to nursery with a bright smile on their faces and they have a strong bond with the staff. Staff respect individuality, that every child is unique and every child matters. Little Lions provide children with stimulating planned activities in order to help each and every child reach their full potential, as well as building relationships with their friends and staying happy.

As a volunteer at Little Lions for 5 months, I have built close relationships with the staff. I felt very valued and loved by the children and staff. They were always happy to help and pass on knowledge in childcare. Not only does Little Lions provide high quality childcare and early years teaching, It is in no doubt an extremely friendly workplace for adults. I have volunteered at several settings in the past and there has been no place as friendly and loving as Little Lions!"

From a parent........

Lucy attended Little Lions for a term and a half before starting ' big school'. At the time it felt like a risky choice moving her from one nursery to another with so little time before she stared reception but looking back it was the best thing we could have done for her. Jo, Sarah and the team they place around them are incredible. The time, effort, imagination and love they put into everyday at Little Lions is inspiring. They gave Lucy an amazing term in which she was constantly stimulated, happy and excited for school every day! Jo and Sarah showed on many occasions how well they knew and understood Lucy and were always available to talk to about any issues or problems we were having. I can't thank them enough for everything they did for Lucy during her time at Little Lions!"
